There are two types of AIIA membership:

• Full membership is open to companies who derive commercial gain from the sale or supply of tools that facilitate communication, processing or transmission of information or the sharing of knowledge through electronic means.

• Affiliate membership is open to companies which do not qualify for full membership but who provide services in support of or have interests and objectives in common with the information and communications technology (ICT) industry. Affiliate members can also be techology users, such as government departments or corporate IT divisions. Affiliate members cannot stand for the Board of Directors or vote in board elections.
